UIC Government Services and the Bowhead Family of Companies Training Developer in Colorado Springs, Colorado

Overview

Bowhead seeks a Training Developer to support the United States Army Space and Missile Defense School (SMDS).

The SMDS is part of the United States Army Space and Missile Defense Command (USASMDC) and Space and Missile Defense Center of Excellence (SMDCoE). The School’s core functions include: 1) Educate, train, and develop leaders for Space and Missile Defense operations; 2) Develop Army Doctrine for Space, High Altitude, and Global Missile Defense; 3) Develop individual and collective training tasks for Space and Missile Defense operations; 4) Train and educate the Army at large in Space and Missile Defense; and 5) Execute the US Army’s Quality Assurance Program to ensure standards are met in the education, training, and leadership development of Soldiers and Civilians.

This position will provide support to the School’s Division of Training and Doctrine (DOTD).

Responsibilities

  • Utilize the Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation (ADDIE) process for linking the operational environment into individual learning products for the operational and institutional domains, and the self-development domain including distributed learning.

  • Utilize the ADDIE process for linking operational environment into collective learning products for the operational domain for operational units within space, high altitude, and missile defense missions.

  • Support Headquarters Department of the Army (HQDA) Standardized Mission Essential Task List (METL) development and Army approval processes.

  • Conduct in-depth analysis of all space and missile defense tasks and provide feedback and recommendations for change. Develop collective and individual tasks.

  • Execute training development in accordance with Army Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) Regulation (TR) 350-70 series and Army accreditation standards.

  • Utilize Training Development Capability (TDC) and other mandated databases to develop unit and institutional training products.

  • Certify and sustain certification in accordance with TR 350-70-3 and the Staff and Faculty Development Program.

  • Develop lesson plans, training materials, course content, and evaluation criteria.

  • Provide technical subject matter expertise and knowledge related to Army space and missile defense operations.

  • Develop and document training solutions for validation and approval.

  • Prepare training requirements analysis system documents, training publications, STRAPs, training support packages, and training strategies as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree; degree may be waived with appropriate experience.

  • 5+ years of space or missile defense related military experience.

  • Knowledge and understanding of the ADDIE model.

  • Experience utilizing the ADDIE process.

  • Previous training development experience.

  • Understanding of Space and Missile Defense Fundamentals.

  • Understanding Army and Joint staffing processes.

  • Ability to coordinate and engage with external Federal and Government Agencies.

  • Experience and understanding of military operations.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Experience using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

  • Ability to brief higher ranking officials.

  • Understand the Military Decision-Making Process (MDMP) process.

  • Ability to articulate space to non-space personnel and missile defense to non-missile defense personnel.

Highly Desired:

  • Experience writing System Training Plans (STRAP) and utilizing the STRAP Writing Tool.

  • MOSQ: FA40, Space 200, ASCBC, Space Operations Course, GMD or other relevant space and missile defense courses

  • Sensor Manager Qualification Course (SMQC), or Sensor Leadership Development Course (SMLDC)

  • Experience with Space Operations and/or Missile Defense capabilities.

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to obtain and maintain security clearance at the Top Secret level. Candidates with a Top Secret/SCI are highly preferred. US Citizenship is a requirement for holding a clearance at this location.

Physical Demands:

• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds

• Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time

• Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically
